During my stay in Tallinn I tried to find a genuine Japanese restaurant and finally I could find Sakura. This restaurant is maybe only one real Japanese restaurant. I would like Estonian people to taste a variety of Japanese food other than sushi. You can try it here.

Vapiano is a cheap German idea of italian fast food…
you have the same quality standards like in germany and even the working conditions are nearly like in Germany so better than in the other estonian restaurants.
If you want to get cheap good food within a short time go there for a candel light dinner choose another place.
And the Vapiano next to Rotermanni is better than in the Solaris.

I was the last months a couple of times in Platz, my food was always perfect and the service was friendly and nice to me. I got water for free and mostly the main dish within a good time, only for sweets I had to wait longer.
But this changed since they have a chef of patisserie. The price level is for what u get really OK. I don’t know in which Platz u have been…
And if it is too expensive for u than go to F-Hoone

@Julia : Thank you for the input. Really accurate, as indeed, the people there really seem to care about customers’ feedback. Is it to improve or just to be polite, i don’t know. But it is a good first step.
Just one thing which i didn’t add in the post, Paevapraad are good, but the other meals which take more time (and are not already pre-cooked) are of a better quality.

I like Mosaic a lot, too. For good (and beautifully served!) food; very tasty complimentary bread; free water in nice bottles with lemon, orange, lime or cucumber stripes inside; and good service. Only once I was dissapointed with seljanka soup and when the waitress noticed my not finished plate she asked if I did not like the soup. So when I said I did not like the meat she said she would let the cook know. I think it’s respect to the customers and desire to improve, that’s why I will keep on coming to Mosaic.

Hi Paul,
I didn’t try the espresso fearing to be disappointed like in too many places in here. But the fact that the previous owners went bankrupt is not surprising me. The service was awful and the food quality went down big time.
This is in my opinion one of the best places for a lunch break in this area for price and quality…And WATER FOR FREE RULES THE WORLD !

Once upon a time they had the bast espresso in town, but I think that the people running the place at the time went bankrupt.

Indeed, it is a cool place for a quick lunch break: good price, acceptable food and WATER COMES FOR FREE!

Positive person as I am still have to say that Platz is the worst restaurant I have visited in Tallinn aswell. Very overrated place for sure!
